Spectros Medical Devices Inc. makes advanced molecular sensing devices and software which shed light on tissue health and diseases related to vascular performance.

 

We are a private company focused on developing life changing consumer and medical devices based on in-vivo molecular optical technologies, including clinical devices for detection of ischemia, systemic perfusion, and vascular performance.

Our advanced T-Stat Tissue Oximeter utilizes innovative optical technology, with groundbreaking use of white LEDs that speed diagnosis, enable real-time therapies, reduce complications, and lower costs.

Our team

Rob Pupelis,
CEO

Rob began his career in the medical device industry at Medical Alliance, Inc. in 1995. Eager to understand every facet of the business, he transitioned from sales to management and was named Regional Operations Manager of the Year in 2000. In 2002, he founded AAI, becoming a leading distributor in the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery market by collaborating with multiple manufacturers. In 2017, he led the acquisition of Spectros with the aim of advancing T-Stat technology and expanding its clinical applications both in the U.S. and globally.

David Benaron, MD,
Founder

David Benaron is the founder of Spectros, along with multiple other biotechnology start-ups. He has an MD from Harvard, a Health Sciences degree from MIT, and attended as a physician in Intensive Care at Stanford University Medical School. He holds over 30 US and International patents in biomedical devices, methods, and technology. He also serves on the Board at companies outside of Spectros.

Elizabeth van Thillo,
VP Clinical Affairs

Since joining Spectros in 2007, Elizabeth has been actively involved in various aspects of the company, including operations and R&D. Her diverse experiences have been instrumental in the company’s growth. She has led marketing efforts, facilitated the transition from research to clinical sales, and expanded markets across the US and EU. Recently, she stepped into operations to source new manufacturers and oversee the redevelopment of the core product, T-Stat. She now serves as the Vice President of Clinical Affairs.
